We've got answers โ and probably a few cute photos to go along with them! ๐ธ
No question is too silly โ we love curious pet parents!
When is the pool open?
+
We run our pool MayโAugust on Tuesday and Thursday, 12โ2 PM. Full day daycare and boarding pups are welcome to enjoy pool time. We run small groups during designated pool time. Please note we will not be giving a bath after. ๐
Can I bring a lunch for my dog at daycare?
+
Yes, absolutely! ๐ We are happy to give our full day daycare pups an owner-provided lunch.
What do I need to bring when I drop my dog off for boarding?
+
We ask that you leave the large bags of food at home and divide the food up one of two ways:
โIndividually bagged per feeding in a ziplock
โUse a gallon ziplock bag
No need to bring blankets or bowls โ we provide all those things! ๐๏ธ Toys can be a choking hazard so please leave those at home too.
What if my pet needs medication or supplements during their stay?
+
Yes! We are able to administer medications or supplements for you. Please let us know what the medication is for. If your pet has serious health issues we will recommend medical boarding at Allen Veterinary Hospital.
Medication administration fee: $2.00 per day
โ ๏ธ All medications must be in the original prescribed medication bottles and not mixed in with food or treats.
Can my dog play in group play if he is not neutered?
+
All male dogs over the age of 7 months must be neutered in order to play in daycare. They are still very welcome โ they will just be walked individually. ๐ฆฎ
How do you manage a dog playing too rough?
+
Our experienced staff handles rough play with calm, effective techniques:
โLeashing: Safely separating dogs when needed
โTime-Outs & Redirection: Calming pets with gentle guidance and allowing the dog to settle down
Because your pet's wellbeing is our absolute top priority.
What are the required vaccinations for my dog or cat?
+
Proof of all core vaccinations are required prior to arrival for every pet guest.
๐ Dogs: DHPP, Rabies, and Bordetella
We strongly suggest you check with your veterinarian to ensure your pet is up to date and that the Bordetella vaccine has been administered every 6 months.
๐ฑ Cats: PRC, RV, and FELV
We strongly suggest you check with your veterinarian to ensure your pet is up to date.
Is there a health screening process?
+
Yes! Upon check-in, our front desk staff will look for any signs of illness, including runny noses, watery eyes, or coughing.
If any symptoms are observed during your pet's stay, your pet will be promptly isolated to ensure the safety of all guests. Should a pet exhibit symptoms that may be contagious, we will contact you immediately to arrange pickup.
Why do you require the Bordetella vaccine every six months?
+
The Bordetella vaccine (kennel cough) is very much like the flu vaccine we humans get โ it covers a few of the most prominent strains of the virus at that given time. The virus is ever-changing and airborne.
Having it strong in your dog's system will help them fight off the virus more easily. When dogs congregate in large numbers โ like at dog parks and daycare โ the chance of being exposed is much higher. If your pet is experiencing any signs such as sneezing, coughing, or vomiting, please do not bring them in. ๐พ
We love hearing from you! Give us a call or send us a message โ our team is always happy to help. ๐พ
